About

We are a Merseyside based training provider, specialising in Construction training for young learners between the ages of 13-19.

At Cornerstone, we are passionate about helping young people develop and achieve recognised qualifications, whilst progressing their career goals. To achieve this, we have carefully selected a range of qualifications that the Construction industry recognise and have designed courses to be both challenging and rewarding.

Over the years, this approach has proven to be successful, it enables students to achieve, grow in confidence and prepare for the next steps in their chosen career.

History of Cornerstone

Cornerstone Vocational Training (CVT) is a vocational training provider that works in the boroughs of Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral and has done since 2003. Since formation in 2003, CVT has provided alternative education to young people who faced barriers to inclusion in mainstream provision. This helps children that are in danger of permanent exclusion from schools, partake in a vocational focus while still attending schools to study their core GCSE subjects.

In 2007 the directorship of the company was reduced to one from three and a decision was made to expand our provision to include post-16 programmes, working on the government initiative that was e2e. This provided our pre-16 learners the opportunity to progress into further training in an environment that they were comfortable with. This allowed us to break down the sometimes-daunting barriers of further education in the College system. Cornerstone partnered up with a number of lead providers to offer BTEC level 1 and 2 qualifications with a focus on achievement, completion and progression, into further education, employment or employment with further training.

"Cornerstone has helped me gain confidence, learn new skills and achieve a L1 Diploma in Construction. I then went on a placement which became an apprenticeship! I'd like to thank all of the tutors at Cornerstone".
